Craftsman Geppetto has made an incredible little wooden puppet, Pinocchio, however one magical night his creation transforms into a real boy! Pinocchio’s adventure has just begun…

Will he be a good boy and go to school or will he become a donkey? Will he be able to avoid all the tempting tricks and treats that are offered to him? And will Geppetto be able to find Pinocchio whilst he’s on his travels?

Merton Abbey Mills is given over to Easter Thrills at the Mills for a day of fun, exciting and innovative things for kids to participate in, which include great hands on workshops in art, crafts, pottery, cake making, music, drama and dancing.

There’s also, bouncy castle, face painting and a chance to meet the characters from The Colour House Children’s Theatre!

A superb day is in store that will have a real community feel focusing entirely on Children.

Event Details

To see and to be seen – this Open Music Programme provides a platform for music lovers, students or musicians in their early career to practice and gain more public performance experience. Also an opportunity to share with like minded people and learn from each other.

Bring your instruments, background music and/or your voice. There will be a piano and PA system set up. Bring your family and friends to cheer you on.

Great experience for those needing performance practice.

More than just an “open mic”

To encourage more practice and experience, in this six month programme we will select a best performer each month and at the end of the programme the accumulated best performer will have the opportunity to,

 

1/ have one song professionally recorded and broadcast in a radio programme

2/ perform at one of the popular music venues with Jenny Green.

The host – Jenny Green

This six month programme is hosted by broadcaster, singer & vocal coach Jenny Green.

From Jenny’s early love of pop music to big band, jazz and a capella, she has a wealth of knowledge, expertise, skill and experience. With her ever expanding repertoire, covering songs from the world of Jazz, swing, to soul, Latin and popular standards. Jenny has many years’ experience in the music industry and is a regular at gigs with her bands in London music venues, including the iconic Ronnie Scott. Jenny is very well known and loved among her musicians peers especially in South London.

Jenny is a presenter for 107 Meridian FM and Broadcasts a Jazz programSundays 8pm – 11pm. On the show, Jenny often features tracks from up and coming jazz artists and gives out a gig guide and interviews guests live on the show

Join Mowgli on his amazing adventure as he meets all the friendly, dangerous and unusual characters that make this story so iconic. Will Shere Khan get his claws on Mowgli? Will King Louie deceive the young boy into telling him how to make fire? Will Baloo and Bagheera be the heroes? And ultimately, will Mowgli survive all the challenges that the jungle presents? Wine glass in one hand, paintbrush in the other! No experience needed. You’ll be guided step by step by a practicing artist, while you drink, paint and create your way to becoming an artist for the night!

We are very excited to be working with PopUp Painting to offer you this special experience at the Belgian Brasserie.

The event will be themed around Monet‘s iconic Water Lilies. Claude Monet’s work focused on capturing movement, changing light and colour – go wild with those loose impressionistic brushstrokes!

Your experience (£29.99 per person) will include: All art equipments and supplies, guidance from a qualified and practicing artist, a themed playlist to immerse you in your experience. Drinks, snack and dinner are available from the bar.

It will make a great night out with friends and colleagues, even a date night  😉!
